Summer is upon us and when it comes to great days out and events to remember, Liverpool is the place to be. From festivals and sporting events to food, drink and family-friendly outings, all we need now is great weather!

Liverpool International Music Festival

Liverpool International Music Festival

From 20th-21st July, Liverpool’s renowned International Music Festival is back with a bang! Celebrating diverse talent from global household names to brand new and emerging acts, LIMF are aiming to impress this year with incredible live music, DJs guaranteed to get you dancing and plenty of activities for children. One of the city’s favourite festivals, LIMF will take place at Sefton Park, with tickets priced at £11 per person. Children aged 12 and under go free, while VIP tickets are available for £26 (this gives access to a private bar area).

Sigma, Anton Powers, Ella Eyre, Maverick Sabre, Kenny Dope, Jazzie B, Yxng Bane, Kenny Allstar and Sister Sledge’s Kathy Sledge!

Must See:

Disco-lovers should check out the live Disco Classical experience, where some of the world’s most-loved tracks including “We are Family” and He’s the Greatest Dancer” are given a makeover by the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, a live band and DJ.

Liverpool Pride Festival Weekend

On 27th and 28th July, Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ community will once again come together with supporters and allies to celebrate LGBTQ+ life, engage with each other and campaign for equality. The event this year has brand new organisers under the newly established brand of the LCR Pride Foundation.

What’s On?

Complete with live entertainment, a dedicated youth zone, inclusive activities, stalls and lots of great food and drink, this free festival will see the city come alive!

A pride march will take place through the city centre – don’t miss it!

Summer on the Dock Liverpool

Summer on the Dock

The famous Royal Albert Dock will play host to a five-week programme of summer fun with their annual Summer on the Dock event. From 4th August-8th September, there will be several inspiring collaborations covering film, sports, health and wellbeing, and it all takes place on a floating pontoon!

What’s On?

Featuring a pop-up cinema showing the likes of Jaws and Finding Nemo, Reading and Storytime workshops including music and arts and crafts sessions, a floating football pitch with free professional coaching sessions and the opportunity to take part in Yoga, Tai Chi, Cricket, Table Tennis and Netball classes, there really is something for everyone on the docks.

The spectacular event will end with an all-new three-day Food & Drink Festival, where the regions finest suppliers will come together in the perfect location to offer tempting tasters and delicious drinks to the people of Liverpool.

Croxteth Country Park in Liverpool

BBC Summer Social

The very best in music, sport and live performance will be coming to Croxteth Country Park from 3rd-4th August, courtesy of the BBC. The annual festival is the ideal place for a family day out, with funfair rides, an inflatable obstacle course and plenty of food and drink to please everyone! Tickets are £23.50 (plus booking/transaction fees) and includes access to all activities – under 2s go free.

What’s On?

Visitors can enjoy live performances from Busted, Max & Harvey, Nina Nesbitt, John Newman, and Pixie Lott.

Echo Arena in Liverpool

Netball World Cup

Here’s something a little different to do in Liverpool this summer! From 12th-21st July, the M&S Bank Arena will host the Netball World Cup, the 15th competition which is held every 4 years. The last in Sydney saw thousands in attendance, and this year’s is set to be no different.

What’s On?

There will be 20 sessions during the tournament with 16 teams including England, Wales, Scotland, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Jamaica and Barbados.

Must See:

There will be fan activities for outside the arena including the Fan Park at Chavasse Park, where you can soak up the atmosphere, watch matches on a giant screen, take part in netball activities and enjoy music and entertainment.

Creamfields Festival in Merseyside

Merseyside’s much-loved festival is back, taking place from 22nd-25th August (Bank Holiday weekend) at nearby Daresbury. This well-known festival is guaranteed to be a hit, with fantastic acts, plenty to see, eat and drink and several ticket packages available now!

What’s On?

This year’s acts include Afrojack, Camelphat, Chase and Status, The Chemical Brothers, deadmau5, Shy FX and Tiesto.

Must See:

Calvin Harris will be at this year’s festival – it’s a no-brainer!
