Liverpool’s 10th anniversary Capital of Culture celebrations
Shining a light on the city’s successes since The Capital of Culture in 2008 – 2018 will act as the 10th anniversary that has helped businesses and tourism in the city progress over the past 10 years. Culture Liverpool and the GREAT Britain campaign have teamed up during 2018 which will see 2018 highlights include events such as the Tall Ships Race and the end of the Clipper Around the World Yacht Race making the city one of the most attractive cities at the heart of the UK’s best of culture to visit this year.

Take your pick from the huge selection of free museums that Liverpool has to offer including one of our favourites, the Museum of Liverpool located on the Pier Head which acts as the world’s first national museum devoted to the city’s history. 2018 will mark 10 years of Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage Site waterfront and 10 yeas of representing Liverpool’s distinctive and interesting history. With an overhead railway to hop on board or delve into the city’s football sporting history, there’s much to do and see in this unique museum.
Ride a boat trip across the river Mersey to Wallasey’s Spaceport that will take you on an inspirational journey through the vastness of space, featuring interactive and hands-on exhibits, themed galleries and audio-visual experiences that will allow your little ones to experience life beyond the stars that we see from earth.
